Ben Plumley is Founder and Publisher of A Shot In The Arm Media, a global health digital news and commentary platform, based in the US and Botswana. He is the Host of the podcasts A Shot In The Arm Podcast, Global Health Diplomats, and Colon, Meet Cancer.
He formerly served as Chief Executive Officer of the global health technical assistance and policy think tank Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation based in Oakland, California and Harare, Zimbabwe. In addition to non-profits, he has extensive public and private sector experience, having been Vice President of Global Health Partnerships at Johnson & Johnson, Director of the Executive Office at UNAIDS, and the founding Executive Director of the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS.
Ben also has wide governance experience, including as the co-chair of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation, as well as board membership of the Californian Prevention Education Project, ICASO, AIDS Care China, and the International Treatment Preparedness Coalition. He has served as President of the San Francisco Community Health Center Board of Directors since April 2022.
Ben holds a Master of Arts (Cantab) in Philosophy & Religious Studies from Churchill College, Cambridge University.
