San Francisco Pride 2025 Theme: Queer Joy is Resistance

At San Francisco Community Health Center, “Queer Joy is Resistance” speaks directly to the heart of our work and our people. Pride has always been a protest. From the first brick thrown to the marches we lead today, it has been rooted in resistance—against police violence, against systemic neglect, against erasure. In a world where trans lives are under attack, HIV services are being defunded, and our communities are criminalized for simply existing, our joy is political. It is survival. It is defiance.

 Our joy is fierce.
 Our joy is collective.
 Our joy is resistance.

We see queer joy every day: in the laughter shared between chosen family at Trans:Thrive, in a client walking out of our clinic with dignity and care, in community members demanding justice and still dancing in the streets. That joy is the medicine, the movement, and the revolution. This theme is a call to center what has always sustained us: each other. As we fight for health care, housing, equity, and safety, we do so with love at the core. Our joy is fierce. Our joy is collective. Our joy is resistance.

We are proud to march under this banner, honoring the beauty and force of our communities—not in spite of oppression, but through it.

San Francisco Community Health Center is deeply honored to be chosen as a 2025 SF Pride Marshal

This recognition belongs to all of us—our staff, clients, allies, and every organizer, healer, and fighter who believes in the power of community-led care. We carry this honor with pride, resistance, and love. Thank you to our community and see you at Pride!

Congratulations to all of the 2025 Pride Marshals, including our beloved Tita Aida who is the Lifetime Achievement Grand Marshal and Jahnell Butler, Public Vote Grand Marshal!

"San Francisco Community Health Center is so proud to be among the incredible group of Grand Marshals. We absolutely love this year's theme. Every aspect of our work is grounded in queer joy and liberation, and we will fight tooth and nail for the health and justice for our LGBTQ+ communities.”
