Program Feature: TransLink
|
TransLink is a San Francisco program serving transgender women of color, aiming to reduce HIV, STIs, and Hepatitis C through support groups, resource connections, and comprehensive services. It addresses participants’ intersecting health and social needs with culturally responsive care.
A standout offering is its Spanish-speaking transgender Latinx group (the only one of its kind in the Bay Area), which has reached record attendance by providing a culturally affirming, language-accessible space for connection and support.
Since its launch, TransLink has enrolled over 179 participants, fostering a resilient community that links members to essential health and wellness resources. It continues to fill critical service gaps, with a commitment to expanding its reach and empowering participants to lead healthy, thriving lives.

This training provides an overview of gender affirming hormone therapy, while naming the historical barriers to accessing care and how to overcome those barriers. It also addresses the history of DIY transitioning and identifies the connection between harm reduction and gender affirming care.

Our mission extends beyond the provision of health services; we actively cultivate a sense of belonging for our community. There is something going on at the health center every single day, whether it is at our Community Living Room, TransThrive Drop-in Center, or The Lotus Project.
|
San Francisco Community Health Center celebrates and attends to the health and wellness of the communities that define San Francisco—immigrant and communities of color, queer, trans, unhoused people, and all of us who are most impacted by oppression—through comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health services. We believe that health care starts with healing justice and meeting the basic needs of our communities. Our culturally informed services are designed by the very people we serve.
