This year’s Impact Report captures how San Francisco Community Health Center met one of the toughest years in recent memory with courage, care, and community.
From standing up to federal attacks on health equity and gender-affirming care to expanding our lifesaving services like those offered at Taimon Booton Navigation Center or the RESTORE program, this report reflects what it means to fight for health and dignity in San Francisco.
Inside, you’ll find stories of resilience from our trans community, partnerships that are changing lives in the Tenderloin, and a look at how your support directly fuels meals, housing, community-building, and compassionate medical care for more than 16,000 people.
Readers can also hear directly from CEO Lance Toma, who reflects on SFCHC’s decision to stand up to federal attacks on equity and gender-affirming care. Learn how, despite these challenges, we continue to forge our path forward with courage, creativity, and unwavering commitment.

Night & Day: Meeting People Where They Are
|
At San Francisco Community Health Center, dignity means being there when people need support most, sometimes that means the middle of the night. Through the night, the RESTORE program offers respite and recovery for those struggling with substance use. Moments of need don’t happen at convenient or predictable times; they come when they come, and it is our intention to be there.
The day can be as long as the night, and that's where the The Community Living Room comes in. The Community Living Room provides a safe, welcoming space for rest, connection, and care during the day. Together, these programs have supported more than 500 people and are helping expand compassionate, around-the-clock care across San Francisco.

Our mission extends beyond the provision of health services; we actively cultivate a sense of belonging for our community. There is something going on at the health center every single day, whether it is at our Community Living Room, TransThrive Drop-in Center, or The Lotus Project.
|
San Francisco Community Health Center celebrates and attends to the health and wellness of the communities that define San Francisco—immigrant and communities of color, queer, trans, unhoused people, and all of us who are most impacted by oppression—through comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health services. We believe that health care starts with healing justice and meeting the basic needs of our communities. Our culturally informed services are designed by the very people we serve.
